About

Hello, friends

They told me that every good website needs an about page and so here I am writing mine.

So, what is this website all about?

RookieJournal.com is a very simple site dedicated to solving bicycle problems. The target audience is mainly rookies (hence the name), but I can guarantee you that even more advanced cyclists and mechanics will find useful bits of information here and there.

My goal is to keep things simple.

All content here is written by me.

Another reason why I chose this name (rookie) is that this was my nickname as a kid.

My credentials?

I majored in “Bicycle Engineering” at Harvard University….ok I am joking.

I started messing with bicycles ten years ago. I own a road bike and a hardtail at the moment. I do all of my maintenance (from shock service to bottom bracket repairs).

When I started the site, I was working in a warehouse full-time and as a bike mechanic part time.

Recently, I dropped the warehouse job and became a full-time mechanic.

I plan to expand this page in the future, but for now I think that’s enough.

See you later 🙂
